    Deaths resulting from the 11 September, 2001 World Trade Center attacks stand at 2,726.

    Department of Health and Human Services. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. “Deaths in World Trade Center Terrorist Attacks – New York City, 2001,” September 11, 2002/51 (Special Issue), 16-18.

    U.S. military fatalities confirmed by the Department of Defense stand at 2,131, casualties at 15,568. Total U.S. and coalition military fatalities are 2,332. 287 contractors have been reported killed, 76 journalists, 3,738 Iraqi security forces, and according to Iraq Body Count, between 27,354 – 30,863 Iraqi civilians, as of December 6, 2005.
